Melinda came to Saguache County at the tender age of 19 to fulfill her dream of being a western cowgirl. Working ranches and farms, she eventually earned a B.S. in Agriculture with honors in 1990. Agriculture is in her blood, and she has grown to value our land, water and our rural communities. Always a strong supporter of community organizations, Melinda has served on numerous boards including SLV Tourism, Saguache County Tourism Council, Crestone/Moffat Business Association, Moffat School Board, Moffat Town Board and Planning Commission. Protecting our rural way of life by protecting our water, building opportunities for small farmers and encouraging tourism are her priorities.
